The Strange Case of ‘Am I Racist’ and Rotten Tomatoes – AwardsDaily

I thought it would be cool to visit Rotten Tomatoes to find out what the score is for The Daily Wire’s Am I Racist. The main page looks like this – you don’t get any points for the movie and the reviews are listed as “zero”.

However, there are reviews. There are five:

I was wondering why there isn’t a 100% score for this. A quick Google search brings up:

So it should be “high criticism” and not “average criticism”.

When you click on the “movies” link, you’ll see this:

I scrolled through the site to see if any other movies had digital scores, and there was one. It’s called the Greatest of All Time, THE GOAT. It has four reviews. But when you click on it, it shows the number I’m not racist:

Here are the two side by side:

So what gives? Am I Racist came in at number four on the box office chart, which isn’t bad. Average per theater numbers put it at number three. Obviously, it did well despite being completely and utterly shut down by the mainstream press, and yet none of the so-called “top critics” (whatever that means) agreed to review it. Just a small handful. But this is only in print.

In the real world, aka YOUTUBE, movie critic Jeremy Jans had the balls to review it. He has almost 2 million subscribers. Do you think any of the “top critics” have similar thoughts on their reviews? And do you think maybe it’s because they’re watching movies like Am I Racist?

Jahns takes the opportunity to talk about things because he doesn’t exist inside the isolated bubble of the left – which is obviously where all or most of the “top critics” live. If I say rude, it’s because they are in their job to review the movie they can discuss. They didn’t want to “platform” him, that’s why they didn’t do it. They might lose their jobs. Who knows. But be that as it may, I’m not surprised Jahns is popular on YouTube. His review received more than 90,000 views in three hours.

Savvy also reviewed it:

Our good friends at Film Threat also did a live event because they live in the real world too. Chris Gore and Alan Ng discuss:

I’m not saying you should watch the movie, like the movie, or even review it. But the strange thing is that the people who cover Hollywood and Hollywood itself seem to think that it can survive in fear and blacklisting forever. Brother, no, he doesn’t want to.

Here’s another popular YouTuber, Misha Petrov, with over 400,000 followers – this video has 184,000 in four days:

A parody site called Dark Brandon tried to get ahead of the film and make an animated film that called Matt Walsh “racist and sexist”.

This video has only 9.5 thousand views since a month ago. I guess what I’m saying here is that the pendulum is swinging, folks. I get that most people want to pretend it doesn’t happen, but it does. The reason? People are sick and tired of the climate of fear, police thinking and speech, and BLAND content. Whether it’s unwatchable movies or unreadable movie coverage.

The movie is funny. This is not offensive. It’s insulting to people whose religion has become “anti-racist,” and there are a lot of people like that, probably everyone in Hollywood right now. Netflix doesn’t do that. Apple doesn’t do that. Amazon doesn’t do that. No movie studio wants it. And isn’t it time to ask why not?

But in general, the job of good documentaries is to ask questions, not to answer them. It’s not about telling people how to think, but that’s what they are. If they want to capture the attention of Gen-Z and every generation, they need to melt down and join the real world.

We still don’t know how much money the movie will make in total, but its success means The Daily Wire is now a legitimate movie studio…
