In Transformers the franchise doesn’t need an R-rated movie, as the previous two installments have proven. The first theatrical film of the franchise, Transformers: The Moviewas released in 1986 and was rated PG. The story follows the animation sequence Transformers TV series that aired in 1984 and the movie takes place after the events of season 2 as it includes characters and stories from the series.




When the first live-action Transformers The film, directed by Michael Bay, was released in 2007 and received a PG-13 rating, suitable for violent action, language and some sexual references.
