Shoguna historical epic set in Imperial Japan, won the Emmy Award for Best Drama and Hacks Sad champion of comedy Bear in the highest awards of television.

Both actors won the same award at the last Emmy Awards, held in January after a Hollywood workers’ strike disrupted the schedule.
In a surprise, Lisa Colon-Zayas received the third place Emmy Bear. She won best supporting actress in a comedy for her portrayal of chef Tina Marrero, beating out a field that included legends Meryl Streep and Carol Burnett. In one of the night’s few notes about the upcoming US election, Colon-Zayas said: “All the Latinas looking up to me, keep believing and vote. Vote for your rights.”
Host Candice Bergen recalled how her fictional character, single woman “Murphy Brown,” was attacked in 1992 by then-Vice President Dan Quayle for having children.
“Oh, how far we’ve come. Today, a Republican vice presidential candidate would never attack a woman for having children,” she said, adding in an apparent jab at Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance’s comments about the “meow.” childless cat women”.
